“I am probably the strongest I have ever been, but I am not yet mentally strong because it is very difficult to have twins,” Klopp said. He added that ” enduring several hours of sleep each night is not conducive to a productive stress environment.
“Moving away from the Red Roses and announcing my resignation is the right thing for me to do.”
“I am proud to have played 75 times for my country, won six titles and played in two Rugby World Cups. It has been a dream. I have given everything for the Red Rose Bowl and I am the best player I can be.
“Being a mother has been one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. It is also a very difficult and demanding job. I will be forever grateful for the support Iceland has given me over the past year. It’s great that we’ve made a positive step towards now talking about, and supporting, women in rugby who have children.
“I can’t wait to see the next wave of red roses come and I am committed to helping the development of young players off the pitch wherever I can. In the meantime, I will support from afar!”
